About Neighborhood

Located on a plateau at an altitude of approximately 875 meters in the southeast of Seydikemer, Arsaköy takes its name and spirit from the ancient city of Arsada, which lies within its borders. With its cool air, scattered settlement pattern, and lush green nature, this is a forest village with a unique character that sets it apart from the lowland settlements.

Where History and Nature Meet Arsaköy's greatest asset is the heritage of the ancient settlement of Arsada. This historical fabric is seamlessly woven into the daily life of the village. As a forest village, it offers its residents additional sources of income, such as the production of forestry goods. Its vast highland pastures (Rahat Plain, Karasini, Kumalar) create an ideal environment, particularly for cattle breeding. The village is composed of several hamlets, such as Aşağı, Orta, Yukarı, Taşbaşı, Denizpınarı, and Çiftkaval, each scattered across a hill or slope.

The Bounty of the Plateau and Village Life When one thinks of Arsaköy, its delicious apples and lush vineyards immediately come to mind. The apple festivals that were once held here are a testament to this reputation. The agricultural landscape is also diversified with grains like wheat and barley. The village market, held every Friday, is not just a place for trade but also a social hub where the community, including deep-rooted families like the Saraçlar, Özler, and Uçarlar, comes together. The local agricultural development cooperative represents the organized strength of the producers. Although its population has declined over the years due to migration to urban centers, the village comes alive again, especially in the summer, with seasonal residents who come for the highland pastures. The most critical issue for the village's future, however, is the shortage of irrigation water, the lifeblood of its agricultural activities.
