Belen Neighbourhood

About Neighborhood

Transformed into a central hub with Seydikemer's elevation to district status, Belen Neighbourhood is where the administrative heart of the region beats. Formerly a settlement attached to Kemer, it found itself in the role of the district centre with the birth of Seydikemer in 2012 and has since begun to develop with this new identity.

Built on a hillside, Belen features a compact settlement pattern where houses and streets are closer together, unlike more dispersed settlements. This structure creates an atmosphere more akin to a town centre. Its geographical position gives it a commanding presence over the surrounding landscape.

Life in Belen, as expected from a district centre, is characterized by an interplay between the service sector and agriculture. Official institutions, shops, and businesses constitute the service-oriented face of the neighbourhood, while surrounding agricultural activities carry on the region's deep-rooted tradition of production. Belen is a hub where administrative affairs are managed, and the rhythm of rural life can still be felt.
