Boğalar Village

Located northeast of Seydikemer at an altitude of approximately 1245 meters, Boğalar is an authentic mountain village built on the slopes of the Taurus Mountains, breathing with its deep-rooted traditions. This clustered settlement, divided into two sides by the Boğalar Stream that flows through its center, is not just a geographical location but a vibrant hub of centuries-old Yörük culture.

While it is common for the younger generation to migrate to lower-altitude towns for job opportunities, the absence of inward migration has allowed the village to preserve its authentic structure.

Alongside traditional crops like wheat, barley, and chickpeas, cherry production has gained prominence in recent years, bringing a new dynamic to the local economy. The cooperatives established for irrigation and milk production reflect the organized and collective spirit of the Boğalar community. However, what truly makes Boğalar special is the annual Traditional Yörük Turkmen Festival. This event, attended with great enthusiasm by people from all over the region, is the most significant occasion where the traditions, music, and folklore of their ancestors are kept alive, representing the cultural heartbeat of the village.
