Korubükü

About Neighborhood

Korubükü is located in the south of Seydikemer, in a landscape where the fertile plain embraces the forest. Its name, reminiscent of a "grove bend" or a wooded river curve, perfectly encapsulates the neighbourhood's character. It is not a single village centre, but rather an expansive living area composed of nine distinct rural hamlets, such as Mıstanlar, Batmazlar, and Haliller, scattered across lands fed by the Eşen River and the cool waters flowing from the Saklıkent Gorge.

In Korubükü, the rhythm of life is dictated by water and soil. Situated at an average altitude of 68 meters, the community reaps all the benefits of lowland agriculture. Cotton, sesame, pomegranates, and wheat are cultivated on the fertile alluvial soils along the river. The production of alfalfa and silage corn, essential for modern greenhouse farming and livestock, forms the cornerstone of the economy. Large cattle farming completes the region's agricultural integrity.

The dispersed settlement pattern offers each household a spacious and open living environment, allowing residents to lead a tranquil life in harmony with nature. During the summer months, many families, like those in other villages in the region, make their way to the Girdev Plateau to cool off and uphold their ancestral traditions. Korubükü stands as one of the finest examples in Seydikemer of a peaceful and productive rural life, shaped by the bounty of its waters.
