Paşalı

About Neighborhood

Located to the north of Seydikemer on a fertile slope where the lush texture of the forest meets productive agricultural land, Paşalı offers a tranquil life in harmony with nature. Situated at an average altitude of 250 meters with a dispersed settlement pattern, the neighbourhood has a spacious atmosphere where homes are surrounded by fields and gardens. Administratively, Paşalı was attached to Üzümlü until 1990, after which it was connected to Kemer, making it part of the region's administrative shifts over time.

The rhythm of life in Paşalı is dictated by the cycle of the land and the flow of the seasons. The neighbourhood's economy is built on the solid foundations of agriculture and large-scale cattle farming. A wide variety of crops, ranging from wheat to pomegranate, sesame to peanuts, and olives to corn, are cultivated on the lands spreading across the slopes. This agricultural diversity is the finest indicator of the community's productivity and the fertility of its soil.

In its social life, two distinct migration patterns are noteworthy. On one hand, following an ancestral tradition during the summer, some residents head to the cool highland pastures (yaylas) like Uzunca and Dokuzağıl, strengthening their connection to nature. On the other hand, a portion of the younger population engages with the modern economy by working seasonally in the tourism centres of Fethiye. This dual movement reveals Paşalı's balanced and dynamic structure, which is as connected to its roots as it is open to the world.
